Palo Santo -lastuja (tikuilla) 50 g
- Palo Santo chips with sticks – a natural incense from Ecuador with a pleasant, woody‑balsamic scent. Used for centuries in cleansing and relaxing rituals. Helps bring peace and harmony.
Palo Santo literally translates from Spanish as “holy wood”. For centuries, its wood has been regarded as exceptional – both for its aromatic and energetic properties. The fragrant resin within is responsible for its characteristic scent: warm, sweet and richly woody. It is this resin that makes Palo Santo wood durable, resilient and beautifully fragrant. In South America, the “holy wood” is used to craft everyday items, ornaments, drinking vessels for yerba mate and, of course, natural incense.
Palo Santo chips with sticks combine smaller and slightly larger pieces of wood, allowing the incense to smoulder slowly and evenly, releasing a full, deep aroma. This natural incense can be used in many ways – at home, during meditation, or even while brewing your favourite mate:
- to cleanse and energise your space,
- in aromatherapy and breathing practices,
- to create a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere,
- as part of yerba mate rituals and natural ceremonies,
- or simply – for the pure pleasure of the scent itself.
Origin and sustainable harvesting of Palo Santo
Our Palo Santo comes from Ecuador and belongs to the species Bursera graveolens. This tree is not an endangered species, yet the wood is collected only from naturally fallen branches, ensuring full respect for the environment. Such an approach combines traditional harvesting with care for the ecosystem – allowing every stick of Palo Santo to retain its natural power and distinctive fragrance.
The smoke of Palo Santo is thick, pleasant and distinctive – blending sweet vanilla notes with a hint of citrus freshness and the deep tone of resinous wood. It recalls the scent of a forest after rain – relaxing and soothing. Indigenous peoples of South America used the “holy wood” in spiritual ceremonies, believing its aroma cleansed negative energy and attracted good fortune. Today, Palo Santo continues to serve a similar purpose – supporting relaxation, meditation and positive energy in everyday life.

How to use Palo Santo chips as incense?
- Place a small amount of chips on a heat‑resistant surface (such as a ceramic stand) or on a charcoal disk.
- Light the chips, and after a few seconds, blow out the flame, allowing them to smoulder.
- The thick, aromatic smoke will envelop the space, creating a pleasant, cleansing atmosphere.
- After finishing the ritual, leave the vessel in a safe place. The chips will extinguish naturally and can be relit later if desired.
